In November, a meeting was arranged by four former OAD members with a focus on establishing a new organization or re-establishing OAD with a new board, operational procedures, and bylaws.  This meeting was a key to opening the door to effective communication, teamwork, and deaf community outreach.  About 45 people attended the meeting at Hard Road Public Library in Columbus.  They supported the idea of a new organization after learning of the reasons for leaving OAD in August of 2023.

Due to inclement weather, a second meeting was held via Zoom on January 20, 2024.  About 40 participants came onto Zoom and voted for the new name "Ohio Deaf Association" (ODA) to take the place of the "Ohio Association of the Deaf" (OAD).
